26th International Automotive Media Competition Winners Recognized

PLYMOUTH, MI, July 30, 2017 / – Awards for the 26th International Automotive Media Competition (IAMC) were presented this morning during a ceremony held at the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s.

The IAMC program recognizes and encourages excellence in all forms of automotive media. From works published, aired, or broadcast January 1 - December 31, 2016, judges deemed over 150 entries worthy of special distinction.

The Best of 2016 Award went to the Video division entry of MotorWeek's "35th Anniversary Special" episide.

MotorWeek's David Scrivener accepts the IAMC Best of 2016 Award from IAMC presenter Mark Phelan, Auto Critic for the Detroit Free Press.

In their 35th anniversary special episode, host/series creator John Davis and the MotorWeek crew served up the inside scoop on how the show is produced, along with humorous outtakes, and the cars that truly made lasting impressions.

Having launched shortly after the nadir of the 1970’s American auto industry, MotorWeek, with its 35 years of regular coverage, and especially the anniversary episode, has captured an important visual record of one of the most exciting and turbulent times in the now-global automotive industry.

Judging for the IAMC is by peers, to a standard; entries may earn up to 100 points. The Medallion Awards -- Bronze (85-91 points), Silver (92-96 points) and Gold (97-100 points) -- are presented for those works so qualified. From among the highest-scoring (98-100 points) Gold Medallion winners are chosen the Best of Divisions, with Best of Year being chosen from the Best of Division awardees.

A list of all the winning entries can be found here.
