Tom Kelley - Managing/Operations Director
Tom Kelley serves as the managing/operations director for the IAMC, overseeing the online data collection process, entry processing and distribution of awards. A veteran producer of dozens of award presentation events, he also coordinates the IAMC award presentation.
As a second-generation automotive journalist, Tom literally grew up in the business, learning from the ground up. In 2014 Tom was named as the new managing/operations director of the IAMC.
Along with technology coverage that can include editing shop manuals or writing feature articles about the latest telematics hardware, and intelligent-highway systems, Tom also writes numerous light truck reviews from both an adventure-travel perspective, and the business-user’s perspective.
Nancy Chiasson - Canadian Director
Nancy Chiasson is the Canadian director of the IAMC. From her office in Ottawa, Nancy handles the logistics for all Canadian IAMC entries, Facebook and Twitter updates, and many other duties for IAMR and NACVOTY.
A lifelong auto enthusiast, Nancy's background spans the spectrum from rebuilding her grandmother's '56 Chevy when she was 16 years old, to showing classic and collectible cars, driving a chase vehicle for the Ford Rough Riders off-road team, managing a pit-crew support team for BFGoodrich, as well as racing and winning the "Baja 2000" first in class and 12th overall.
Jason Sakurai - SEMA Liaison
Journalist and marketing expert Jason Sakurai serves as the liason between the IAMC team and the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), the automotive industry's premier aftermarket accessory organization. Jason will work with SEMA staff to coordinate events at the SEMA Show, and conduct outreach with SEMA members to attract additional IAMC entries.
As one of the founders of the Import Performance Committee, later recognized as the Sport Compact Council, Jason's SEMA connections run deep and span nearly two decades. In addition to his focus on the sport compact market, Jason was also an early contributor to SEMA News, an early member of SEMA Cares, and remains active in the SEMA Action Network (SAN).
Elaine Haessner - Co-Founder, Advisor
Elaine C. Haessner is a director of the International Society for Vehicle Preservation (ISVP). As co-publisher with her late husband, Walter R. Haessner, she was in automotive publishing for over 50 years.
In addition to publishing and editing responsibilities, Elaine has significant public relations experience. Currently, she is an advisor to the International Automotive Media Competition (IAMC), a function of ISVP now in its twenty-sixth year, having retired from her previous position as executive director in 2014.
Walter Haessner (1935-2006) - Co-Founder
Automotive expert Walt Haessner served as consultant and executed projects for numerous companies, including Ford Motor Company, Mobil Oil Corp (ExxonMobil), and Jaguar Cars N.A. For over 50 years he was a publisher of motorsports and transportation books. Founder of the International Society for Vehicle Preservation (ISVP), he served as its executive director from 1983-2006. One of the Society's main functions today is the annual International Automotive Media Competition.
